Col de la Cayolle refuge
A nature break in the heart of the Mercantour National Park
Nestled at an altitude of 2,263 metres, just below the Col de la Cayolle, this authentic refuge welcomes you in a wild and preserved high mountain setting. Surrounded by high-altitude lakes, rocky peaks and alpine meadows, it is a real little piece of paradise for hikers, cyclists and nature lovers.
Easily accessible in summer from the road to the pass, the refuge is an ideal stopover on the GR56 or to explore the wonders of the Mercantour National Park. Here, there is no telephone network, but calm, fresh air and a friendly atmosphere guaranteed.
The refuge offers hot meals, comfortable dormitories and a warm welcome in a simple, mountain atmosphere. A perfect place to recharge your batteries, watch the marmots, or simply enjoy the silence and the stars.
